  • Dictionary project: Brooksville Rotary bought and presented a dictionary to every third grader in every elementary school in Hernando Co. with 2 other Rotary clubs. Received a $ 1,700 District Simplified Grant for this project in 2006, 2007, 2008. 2009,2010, 2011
  • Annual Elected Officials’ Day. Brooksville Rotary honors Hernando County elected officials
  • Salvation Army Bell Ringing: Brooksville Rotary rings the bell at X-mas time for two days. Requires 40 Rotarians to fill slots
  • Toys for Daystar: Brooksville Rotary collects toys for R.S.V.P. for distribution through Daystar.
  • Tangerine Drop: Rotarians fund & help operate Hernando County Tangerine Drop New Year’s Eve. Alcohol-free family event
  • H.E.A.R.T. Literacy Festival: Rotarians cook and serve food.
  • Hospice Kids bereavement camp at Lakewood Retreat: Rotarians cook and serve dinner for children under hospice care
  • Senior Exit Interviews at Hernando High School: Rotarians help interview for careers every graduating senior.
  • Rotary Rays Days:  Rotarians travel in a bus to Tampa Bay Rays game. Part of proceeds go to Polio Plus
  • ACS Cancer Relay for Life: Rotarians field a team. .
  • Scholarships at Hernando High School: Brooksville Rotary awards $ 4,000 to $ 6,000 annually
  • Scholarships at PHCC: Brooksville Rotary adds $ 2,000 yearly to its $ 95,000 fund at the college which awards three full scholarships yearly  
  • Seminar  for Tomorrows Leaders: (S4TL) A long standing central Florida Rotary week long summer program to build tomorrow’s leaders. Brooksville Rotary sponsors two incoming seniors from Hernando High School.
  • Rotary leadership Institute: District 6950 produces three tiers of learning seminars for future leadership of Brooksville Rotary
  • Rotary International’s Group Study Exchange: Brooksville Rotary  participates in hosting one of 700 such international teams yearly for cultural and vocational exchange.
  • Rotary Youth Exchange: Brooksville sends and receives exchange students intermittently
  • Interact: Rotary for High Schoolers. Brooksville Rotary sponsors a club at Hernando High.
  • International projects: Brooksville Rotary participates yearly in an international project among the Rio Dulce River Maya population in Guatemala, we have supported an India solar project, and are partnering with other Rotary clubs for Partnership in Agriculture in Haiti.
  • The Rotary Foundation:  Brooksville Rotary yearly supports through EREY to enable worldwide and local community projects and Polio Plus. Our club is one of the few which 100 % of  members  has donated at least $ 100 year, and with “points” and supplement reaches 150 % per capita.
  • Help fund a long list of  501©3’s in Hernando County
  • The Dawn Center (domestic violence shelter) in 2006. Received a $ 1,000 District Simplified Grand to help build & fund playground. Project in 2006 
  • Ambassadorial Scholar: We pursue possible scholars to participate in this scholarship valued at $ 25,000. We sponsored one successfully  in 2010
  • Rotary Leadership Institute: About 18 of our membership has attended this training for future leadership roles in the club
  • New Beginnings” runaway shelter: We annually help with the fundraiser and support, and cook evening meals once a month
  • Grow Tower Project at Pinegrove Elementary School:  Project for science club in hydroponics and agriculture.
  • Habitat for Humanity: Brooksville Rotarians help build a house in 2010
  • Red Mule Flatlanders Road Race in Brooksville: Supply course marshals for traffic control
  • New Beginnings Youth Shelter 5 K and Fun Run: We support financially and with manpower




  • Annual  Golf Tournament at Brooksville County Club
  • Annual Rotary Radio Auction: Brooksville Rotary auctions off over the radio $ 40,000 worth of new merchandise the last Saturday in March.
  • “Music for Life” concert in October to raise money for Polio Plus
